Associate lecturer in Veterinary Ophthalmology, University of Cambridge
David Williams qualified from Cambridge Veterinary School in 1988 knowing that he wanted to devote his professional life to veterinary ophthalmology, yet while keeping an interest in exotic animals, animal welfare and veterinary ethics. After a residency at the Animal Health Trust, a PhD at the Royal Veterinary College and some time in general practice he returned to Cambridge where he runs the ophthalmology service as well as keeping his interest in ethics, doing a doctorate in
education on the best ways of teaching ethics to vet students. He has written widely in ophthalmology and lectured nationally and internationally. He is just beginning training to be a licensed lay minister in the Church of England just to ensure he makes full use of his spare time!
